happy thanksgiving...

Oooh, so much I am thankful for today.

The other day I had a particularly busy day and after getting the funny farm fed and ready for bed I needed to run out to do my Thanksgiving grocery shopping. I felt tired and ready for an early bedtime and was a bit grumbly about going out to the store.

And then my cell phone rang and it was a woman who got my number off of a food pantry flyer and was looking for some help for her family. I haven't been involved with this food pantry for years and I'm not even sure it is still open. I gave the woman a couple of phone numbers, I'm not sure how much help I was, and then I gave thanks for the abundant blessings I am fortunate to have.

I have so many great pictures from today but for right now here are a few from our annual football game.

 

 

Gram's stuffing...

I delegated the task of tearing the bread for stuffing to Rory.

And then when I went over to check his progress this is what I found.

I somehow lost track of the plastic container filled with about a gizillion hair elastics.

Thankfully, this kept Maggie and Rosie entertained for about 1/10th of a nanosecond.

sous chef...

I am thankful to have a little sous chef to help me in the kitchen.

Molly and Rory do not have school today because of parent-teacher conference day. So, after I return Molly, Rory and I will get to work making a big pot of soup and home-made bread.

Rory did a great project on the Native American tribe- the Iroquois.

Here he is looking through the long house. He's on the "river" side and I am on the "patio" side. 

 

He is hugely impressed with the native american culture. He is not impressed with the modern-day native american woman he met. She lived in an apartment and was not wearing a single feather.
